Does this send product back in stock alerts for guests?

NotifyMe does Magento 2 back in stock alerts to both customers and guest visitors. Both types receive a notification email.

The extension sends emails to all subscribers for a particular product, when that’s back in stock using the email system setup in Magento. That email system can be managed by HelloCustomer, but works with however you have your Magento emails set up.

Is this a Magento 2 out of stock notification extension (or for low stock notifications)?
It’s more a back in stock notification module. It doesn’t do Magento 2 low stock notifications, rather it allows customers to subscribe to a Magento 2 product notification email (on the product page and in the category pages). When the Magento 2 stock system is updated for a particular product, NotifyMe will check if that has any subscriptions and stock alerts set. It’ll then send a back in stock message and a link to the product. 
How do I set product stock in Magento?

To set product stock in Magento, navigate to the Admin Panel and click on Catalog followed by Products. Locate and select the product you want to update, then click on Edit. In the product editing screen, go to the Quantity and Stock Status fields under the Advanced Inventory section. Enter the desired quantity and ensure the stock status is set to In Stock. Click Save to apply the changes. 

Or use an extension like StockEasy to update stock with 1-click in Products, via a barcode scanner, or csv import.

If your product has been out of stock, then NotifyMe will kick in and start messaging people watching that product that it’s time to buy. 

How to show out of stock products in Magento 2?

To show out-of-stock products in Magento 2, navigate to the Admin Panel and select Stores followed by Configuration. Under the Catalog section, click on Inventory and then Stock Options. Set Display Out of Stock Products to Yes and click Save Config to apply the changes. Clearing the cache under System > Cache Management will ensure your changes take effect.

By displaying depleted inventory, you can keep customers informed about product availability and increase potential sales through notifications when items are restocked, using NotifyMe.

(You can also use translation tools or edit the theme’s language files if you need to modify messages for different store views or languages.)
